Bali can be visited year-round, but some periods suit certain trips better than others, whether you're after relaxation, hiking, or better prices. Here's the essentials for choosing your dates.
The most recommended period: clear skies, pleasant heat and lower humidity. Ideal for beaches, rice terraces and volcano hikes.
Short but intense tropical showers, usually in the late afternoon. The island stays lush and prices are more attractive, though some mountain roads can be harder to access.
July-August and the year-end holidays see the highest crowds: higher prices and packed sites, especially in Ubud and Seminyak.
May, June and September offer the best balance: dry weather, reasonable prices, and a noticeably quieter island.
