Inspirations
Between the dry season, the rainy season and tourist crowds, here's what you need to choose the right time for your trip to Bali.
Between tropical beaches, terraced rice fields and sacred volcanoes, Bali is a flagship destination in Southeast Asia. That said, the "Island of the Gods" has a tropical climate split into two clearly defined seasons.
To help you choose the ideal time based on what you're after — diving, hiking, budget or peace and quiet — here's TripCompanion's complete guide to Bali's weather. Want to go further? See our tailor-made Bali travel guide too.

The details
This is the best time to visit Bali. The trade winds cool the air, humidity drops, and conditions are ideal for every outdoor activity.
TripCompanion tip: if you're going in July or August, steer away from the crowded south (Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu) and head north (Munduk, Lovina) or east (Sidemen, Amed) instead.
Bali's monsoon brings tropical showers that are often short but intense, mostly in the late afternoon or overnight.
TripCompanion tip: avoid fast-boat trips to the Gili Islands or Nusa Penida in January and February, as the sea can get very rough.

The sea temperature in Bali ranges between 27°C and 29°C year-round, making swimming pleasant in any season.
To make the long flight and time difference (+6/7h) worthwhile, 12 to 15 days on the ground is ideal to combine the south, the centre (Ubud) and the surrounding islands.
